‘Keiki’ Paste / Rooting Hormone

Post by Rich45s »

Hello,

I might have raised these things before but thought I’d ask again after buying a rather large (apparently 18 year old) Crassula Ovata recently. Pictures on the internet are obviously my ‘can’t judge size kryptonits’ and it’s rather bigger than I thought.

I had plan to trim it up to hopefully thicken trunks and branches and know once callused how easy new branches root but I was wondering wether a dipping in hormone gel or Keiki paste would help the process. And if so is it just a case of duping, planting and waiting.

Thanks you

I've always found that cuttings from this plant, and most others, root easily without help.

Keiki paste stimulates shoot growth, not roots, so I wouldn't use that!

Hi,
I have a tub of rooting hormone power that's got to be 10 years old. I still use it not sure if it works, but at least it helps the cut to callus and dry out.
