Carrizal Bajo is the most fantastic of places. It looks otherwordly, with all those immense clumps of Copiapoa dealbata dotting the hillsides. It one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been.

Thanks again Trevor for the excellent pictures!

Cheers,
Marlon Machado.

Thanks Trevor I appreciate all the time and energy you put into sharing this with us, the pictures give a real feeling of how it is over there.

Superb Trevor! Looks like you were almost tripping over cacti - impressive clumps to say the least.

Hope we're going to be treated to more!!:)

Amazing photos again Trevor. Those clumps of Copiapoas are incredible, beautiful and HUGE. It's a fantastic hillside. I don't believe iann could get one in his greenhouse!

I bet Ian wouldn't mind trying to get one in his greenhouse - that is, if Trevor managed to smuggle one out, wrapped in his old underpants!

(Not that it would ever enter his head, of course)

Those Thelocephalas look interesting. Is anyone growing them? Are they looking nice in pots? Do they stay so flat during their entire life.

Here is Eriosyce (Thelocephala) esmeraldana. Hard to tell from this angle, but pretty flat. I think they stay flat if you grow them hard enough. Thought I had Eriosyce napina, another good flat one, but can't find any photos. I've seen both in pots virtually globular from generous watering.
