North West Cactus and Succulent Mart

Post by Peter B »

Just a reminder to look in the Events section to find details of how to reach the opening Mart of the year. Don't miss out.

Peter,
It was mentioned at least 3 times last night at the Bradford Branch meeting, and re-iterated how easy it was to get to :)

Thanks for all the efforts of the Manchester Branch who put their efforts into organising the sale, and of course to the sellers for turning up :) [and for whomever made the fruitcake - yummy!]

I heard there was a queue outside at 10am of eager buyers awaiting the goodies inside.

When I turned up with my dad about 11.15 there seemed little space to park up at the top end but we found a spot and had an enjoyable day. I had some books to pick up and now have about a months reading material sat waiting! Having not been before I'm glad I made the drive over. We had a good chat with a few Bradford branch members we recognised and with the sellers too.

I bought a few nice plants off the list I'd cobbled together of hardier ones for the 'new' greenhouse and a couple of forbies as well. All in all a nice day out.

Regards
Matt

Thanks, Matt, for the compliments and post. I believe all who came had a good day. Good weather, good food, good plants. Best North West mart for some time. My thanks to the host of helpers and all the visitors.

Normally when we go to the meetings on Saturday night we get a space on the car park....

This morning after having gone up and down Mainway twice  we finally found a space not far from being back on Manchester Road.

Very enjoyable morning with far too many plants to choose from.

This was a nice surprise this morning. One of the plants from the Mart - obviously I knew there was a bud on the plant - didn't expect it to open so quickly though!

The NW Cactus & Succulent Mart was a great event on Saturday - many thanks. Great variety of plants, books and sellers, great panini and tea, lots of cactus chat to be had, and excellent Manchester sunshine. Bought 4 Edgar and Brian Lamb books - some 50 yeras old which I have been engrossed in ever since.
