Scorch Alert!

Post by David_L »

Hi everyone

Warm bright sunshine forecast all day in the South. Ideal conditions for Spring Scorch on things like Obregonia, Copiapoa etc. I've put some fleece curtaining up over my "sunny side".B)

It is lovely weather just now, but I've still got my bubble glazing up, so I hope that's enough.

Tending more towards cacti :D, particularly Gymnocalyciums, Rebutias, Sulcorebutias, Echinopses, Thelos, Feros and Mamms (and anything else I like the look of!) all in an 8 x 6 polycarb greenhouse and a few windowsills!

I know the following is going off topic a bit but today I was talking to a north sea fisherman who says lack of cod in the north sea has nothing to do with over fishing; he says the sea is getting warmer and as cod area cold water fish they are moving much further north!
Not surprising with the temperatures we have been getting this year.

Well it got to above 20 on the windowsill the other day, had to water the houseleek on two consecutive days.

Tina - all you need is a bucket of water and some rocks, and you have your very own sauna! :) The cacti might not like the moisture, though.
Happy carrier of Forby Disorder - an obsession with Euphorbia obesa.

NB. Anyone failing to provide a sensible name for me to address them will be called, or referred to, as Fred.
