can anyone identify this root stock please?

Post by JonNo »

I'd be grateful if someone could identify this root stock for me, please - I appreciate its a tall order, but I'm sure someone on here will know!

The only identifying feature I can come up with is that it is five sided. The Uebelmannia grafted atop it is long since dead, and I was going to throw it out but the root stock has now started growing a lovely little pup... I would like to remove the pup and try to root it, so my other request is for any advice on how long to leave it before I try to remove it, what sort of size should I let it get to?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Let that pup grow to about twice its current size, then chop and root. It should take quite easily.
