First flower 2024

It always amazes me that these plants from NW Africa will flower in cold damp and sunless west Wales.
Beautiful to see though. Cheers

That is indeed beautiful!

My little Nelii has for the last two winters produced a bud, and on both occasions they refused to open and eventually dried up... I guess you must get a better quality of sunshine in West Wales than I do down the road in North Shropshire!

Hi Eric,
A very beautiful flower, cheers the day. However these plants do not come from NW Africa but from the Little Karoo on the border between Western abd Eastern Cape Province, South Africa as well as parts of the Great Karoo.

Mine has opened today as well, only took the fleece off the plants two days ago so an especially welcome sight.
