This is labelled as pterocactus megliollii-australis KP170
I’m not sure myself of that name, I’m thinking more like fischeri.
But it’s a lovely rich red bloom, or would be if only the sun came out here in Lincolnshire.

I have a very similar plant that I always assumed was australis, but now I'm thinking it could be fischeri as well. Mine hasn't flowered unfortunately so can't compare.

Very nice! Hope it opens for you.
I have almost forgotten what clouds look like - and for Lancashire that is remarkable.

P fischeri does come in forms with flowers that colour.
Does the rest of the label state any of this:
Argentina : Mendoza (Las Chacras - Río Grande I ., Ruta direct to Malargue - San Rafael , right hill before Río Grande, 1272 m) ?

I think I preferred the colour before the sun came out! Nice to see a flower on this plant, anyway...
