Tina it just sits there all summer looking as if it is dyeing. Then even without water it just bursts into full growth.
From now on it gets as much water as the pot can hold.

I have a t. Grandiflorus that is currently threatening to take over the conservatory. Came out of dormancy very late compared to my other tylecodons but it’s now more than making up for it.
Growing in Nottingham for the past 4 years and recently found my way to a Nottingham branch meeting. A few plants on a windowsill has very quickly turned into a greenhouse full!

Attempting to grow a range of turbinicarpus, coryphantha, escobaria and several other cactus genera. Tylecodons, pelargoniums and conophytums keep me occupied in the winter and an ever expanding number of gasteria live under the bench.

Ralph, thought you'd love to know this, but your "little pegs" are technically termed phyllopodia.

Incidentally the plant shown above has long rather than short phyllopodia so I think the sp. shown is actually T. wallichii and not T. cacalioides. Flowers would confirm this since these are very different in the two spp., although the descriptions give flower colour as yellow not "orange". Maybe our own Tylecodon expert Derek would like to comment?
Cheers,
Colin
