It's posts like this that make me wonder why I haven't tried growing anything from seed yet!

They seem to have grown a lot faster than when I have grown Haworthia and Gasteria seed - even though I am quite generous with water and fertiliser...

They have been under grow lights and have not had a ‘rest’ yet.

Do you use lights with Haworthia? And heat?

Same here, unless these are 3 cm square pots

Or maybe I should just sow more vigorous taxa?

The grow light set up is one of those ‘indoor garden’ types and I find the heat generated by the fluorescent tubes and their gear is sufficient to keep it warm through the winter months - its located in a spare bedroom. I keep a 14/15 hour day length going continuously and feed and water as required to keep things growing. To be fair succulents do better than cacti under this regime although I do currently have a few coming along. Haworthias seem to do very well as do Cono’s. but some other Mesembs don’t produce tight enough growth.

If it's not too much trouble, would you mind taking a photo of your setup? I'm intrigued.
