That's an impressive Astrophytum. I wonder how old it is...

Thanks Jean, it was most enjoyable, although entries were a bit low. Nice to catch up with you!

Thanks all, yes Diane, it was good to chat. We were very pleased to have three novice growers entering our show, including a junior member. We also gave out a number of membership forms, which must be hopeful. Ralph I bought the Astrophytums as a small plant in 1990, I see that it cost 50p. It seems to have grown on quite well, although I had to remove an Echeveria head from the pot before taking it to the show!

Closest branch show to me, but couldn't go as I had work. Hopefully I can make future shows. Was wondering if I could be transferred from the Surrey branch to the Croydon branch?

Probably need to ask Simon to do that, you normally get assigned to your nearest branch

Hi,

Shame you couldn't get to the show, there were some really excellent plants there.

Regarding your branch - North Surrey branch has closed and all members have been transferred to Croydon branch unless they requested otherwise. North Surrey could not contine as their membership was dwindling and they could not find officers to fill the treasurer and chairman roles.

Croydon is an excellent branch and very welcoming.

Don't forget that whatever branch a member is assigned to they are always welcome at any branch meeting without changing branches.

Thanks Suzanne for your comments about Croydon branch  Yes N.Surrey has closed, but I think that the members have not yet been transferred, so therefore our chairman/secretary does not yet have a list of members to contact. Hopefully this will soon be resolved, but yes, anyone is welcome at our meetings, details on the Croydon branch page of the BCSS website. We usually have plenty of plants for sale at our meetings.
