What is your Max / Min temperature in the GREENHOUSE?

Thought this would be an interesting thread to start since it is likely to be as hot as it has ever been before.

To be clear I am NOT talking about outside temperatures. I thought it would be interesting to record the temperatures INSIDE THE GREENHOUSE.

The thermometer should be IN THE SHADE and a rough location (nearest town) would be interesting to know too.

Perhaps any one interested could log the temperature today, tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday probably best around 6pm as that is likely to have caught the hottest part of the day.

ETA : 6pm is of course on the assumption one is using a Max/Min thermometer with markers or digital capture.

Excellent idea Chris
And I don't have to go to the GH to record mine ... remote sensing. I have sensors at the shadiest part of the GH which in theory gives the worst scenario in winter time

Hi Chris;
I take readings from two positions in each (2) greenhouse giving me 4 data points and have figures going back over ten years, but putting the Anorak away for a moment .
Being like yourself I live in an area not known for the highest temps in the country.
Today's figures were, in the greenhouse with the open aspect the max was 29.6c whilst in the more sheltered one the max was 30.9c, the more interesting figure though is that the open aspect house went down to a min of 13.3c while the other stayed a lot higher with a min of 16.2c. ( see other thread about this topic ).
Both greenhouses have a solid concrete floor with insulation underneath, so after 3 or 4 days of sunshine the min temp gets a little distorted because the floor acts as a storage heater giving out heat slowly through the night.

5 miles west of Southend, Essex. The greenhouse is 22ft x 12ft x 12ft high. Max temp yesterday 37.8, min this morning 15.7 I have 8 roof vents, a ceiling fan, two fans at ground level and around 25% of the side glass replaced by welded mesh panels. Plus my neighbour kindly planted a hedge in front of the south end that keeps it nice and shady at that end

A thought .... and please feel free to correct me ....
Won't the relative humidity affect the rate of transpiration?
This will also affect the "apparent" temperature.

In Dagenham Essex. South facing garden. :!:

45.5 in the shade under the staging.

53.5 in the centre the staging where the plants stand

This is with shade netting up, door wide and vents open and multiple fans going full blast.
