Tunilla "Sonnenglut"

Are there many named Tunilla hybrids around? I have "Fuchs" and "Pinsel" in addition to the above, all three are lovely plants to grow.

I am no longer convinced Pinsel is a hybrid. Having obtained a few plants with data from the same region as the ‘hintonii’ plant they seem to display varying length and colour glochids and Pinsel would fit nicely alongside them.

These are all more likely to be selections than hybrids, not least because the botanical names for these plants are next to useless so a cultivar handle is useful for nice clones.

I agree with Mike and Phil. These tunilla (or airampoa, if you prefer ) are cultivars: particular clones from habitat that have been grown on in cultivation and given cultivar names. Indeed tilcarensis cv. Fuchs and a real cracker is erectoclada cv. Firework, an outstanding bright orange flower.

Aah, yes, that is a useful distinction to have clear in one's mind! In actual fact, the label does say "cv" - but in my head I just made these hybrids...

Do we know where cv Sonnenglut originates? Tony, if you grow cv Firework and it flowers please do post a picture!
