Here is my venerable old plant in a fourteen inch pot doing its thing. Despite its name change it flowers annually for me. Any hints on repotting it will help. It’s weight is one of the problems for me.

Now departed, but I had bruchii as a small seedling from Glenhirst, maybe 30-35 years ago. That flowered at around 6 inch diameter - it was globular, actually somewhat squat.

The flower, after the wait, on such a large plant was something of an anticlimax. I found more to appreciate in the simplicity and size of the plant itself.

Hi Ralph, height fifteen inches, but only seven inches dia. Needs re potting badly. Does not have quite the shape of “ barrel cactus “. Cheers

What a lovely plant! Really strong colour, not all of them are.

This is extremely hardy - have you considered planting it out in a raised bed then giving a simple rain cover for winter? You wouldn't need to worry about potting it again then.

How long have you had this for, Eric? And roughly at what age or size did it start flowering? It is a lovely looking plant, I just wonder how this might be...

I was just pottering about in the GH and I found the two seedlings of Trichocereus bruchii from MESAGARDEN I planted in 2018 when I first started to collect C&S.
Now each nearly filling 4 inch pots, I was impressed because many of the seeds I planted didn’t make it this far because of my lack of skills.
The question is ...... will I live to see it flower?
