Hi,
I inherited a couple of succulents recently and they both flowered - to my surprise - and one of the flower shoots produced seed pods. This intrigued me, so I looked around to find information on propagation and found this forum.
The plants look like Haworthia but I would appreciate some verification.
I've attached a couple of photos.
I'd also appeciate any info on the best growing medium and how to make an attractive display.
Thanks in advance
David Roberts

Re: Is this an Haworthia?
Hi David,
I cannot make out the plant very clearly in that light.
Did it have pinky-orange flowers?
If so, looks like Aloe aristata.

Re: Is this an Haworthia?
Just needs a slight name change to be 100% as it now has its own genus Aristaloe aristata
Re: Is this an Haworthia?
The best thing to do with suggestions for new montypic genera is to ignore them and they'll go away.
I reckon it's 100% Aloe Aristata.

Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated. Did a quick visit to Kew Gardens website and find that its new designation is quite recent. How intriguing. New genus and sole species. No wonder I was confused.
