Sale of Jack Voase Collection

Post by Graham Walker »

Dear BCSS Members,

Many of you will have known Jack Voase formally of the Hull Branch (Zone 3) but for the last 15 years a member of the Teesside branch.

Unfortunately Jack has become ill with Alzheimer's and can not now look after his plants and his daughter Helen is now looking after them.

We are organizing an auction of his collection on Sunday 28th August 2011 at his home in Stokesley, North Yorkshire.

For more information please follow the link to our website
http://www.firtreespelargoniums.co.uk/C ... uction.htm

Hope this is of interest to you
Further information will be posted when available

Not attending myself, but am curious about some pictures of the collection. Are they available?

Forthcoming auction

Post by Ernie »

I have removed my posts from the other thread to make it clear that my offer has nothing to do with the local branch who have arranged the auction. As mentioned I act independantly for the benefit of forum members because I live 10 minutes drive from the plants and its easy for me to take photographs and I have the owners permission because they dont have the time to do it. I also believe I am perhaps the most active member of this forum in the area where I live.

My offer still stands if you want a photograph of a particular lot please PM and I will do it. Several members of the forum have made such requests and I will be doing it Friday and will send the images Friday evening.

In my willingness to help out my felllow forum readers who may be interested in these plants I have offered to do something on my own intiative however if any of the local branch feel as if I in some way interloped then I apologise if thats how its viewed.

I have moved Ernie's post back to this thread as there is no point in two threads on the same subject.

A close up of one specimen. I have many more on my PC. I hope to burn them onto a disc and let the owner have them for their web site. Its going to be a cracking auction.
