Re: March Your Favourite plant & what features make it so
This is my favourite plant. It is Gymnocalycium quehlianum v. albispinum.
Why do I like it? Flowers. It produces quite a few flowers each year. Unfortunately it seems to have marked slightly with the cold weather (I hope it is OK). This has finally made me decide I need some heat in the GH over winter. Picture number four is my desktop background.

My favourite plant changes every day! Obviously it must be something frown from seed since that is what I enjoy more than anything else. There are many I could have chosen, but this might have more general appeal than some tiny hairy blob of a mesemb. The reason I like it must be obvious. Look at those spines

My collection is still sleeping in basement so I'm out of (good) pics. Anyway, one from last year should do, at least as small contribution here.
Euphorbia meloformis:

My long time companion, she's been with me for 20 years or so. She's been neglected often, but still grew into a beauty she is, and made me smile when she flowered every year for many past years.

I thought hard and I came to the conclusion that my favourite plant is probably my oldest, and probably just because of that: Mammillaria geminispina, approximately 30 years old from a single, small cutting.

Ever hopeful, trying to grow plants from arid sunny climates in the UK!
Lithops, Haworthia, Adromischus, other south African succulents including Ceropegia and some Crassula.

Haworthia limifolia variegata is one of my favourites, because it took me a long time to get one! This is a pup from a plant I acquired at least 15 years ago, when they were as rare as hen's teeth (unlike today - there are plenty on eBay!)
The original plant is not nearly as variegated and quite small in comparison.

One of my favourites - Monanthes polyphylla. Love it because it's small and cute
