Stunning flowers, thanks for sharing.
If it stays mild here & the sun comes out I'm going to start watering mine early this year.

Cheers for the comments.
The Turbis have been blooming since New Years! T. shmiedickianus ssp. andersonii was the first on Dec 31, 2010. We've been able to keep our houses naturally warm during the day, sometimes too warm 90-105F.

Re: Turbinicapus
Darryl it must be horrid to have temps like that, most ,if not all of us here in England feel for you...should you want a swap for a while, to offer some respite, I am sure there would be many offers. You would be able to cool in the sub 50.f temps and relish the cold damp slowly seeping in to you very bone,s ...brrr Mal.

Ha!
Actually, I'm quite familiar with the nasties of winter, I grew up in Canada.
This is 90% of why I live in California!
However, if you don't mind tending to the collection plants, running the nursery, handling the website and feeding the cat...? When's the next flight!?

Lovely little plants with gorgeous flowers! Thanks for sharing. Yes it will be a few months before mine (hopefully) begin to look like these! Cheers,
