While we are on about new arrivals! This arrived today from Holland.
Not to everyones taste but I like it.
Box bashed = one broken leaf = an unhappy Ernie
This happens when one gets plants through the post but it still upsets me.
Box clearly marked fragile handle with care but looks like it has been used as a cushion.

Re: New arrival- Not happy
What a shame, doesn't help, but I guess you?ll just have to display it as in the first picture.
(What is it please? It's a nice looking plant!)

I assume this is an Aloe aristata x Gasteria sp. hybrid?
If so, they grow really fast and strong, so the damage to the leaf will soon disappear as new leaves develop. I bet that by the end of the coming growing season, all signs of the damage will totally have disappeared.

Re: New arrival- Not happy
Its been traded out as Aloe Cosmo - a new hybrid.
Thanks for offering your thoughts David as to its parentage.
I think its a nice looking plant and for its size inexpensive.

Re: New arrival- Not happy
Anyone else want to have a stab at this plant (not literally)
Re: New arrival- Not happy
Well I'll go Aloe aristata x descingsii or something like that doesn't look transgenic to me.
This is Aloe variegata x Gasteria batesiana one of the new arrivals.

Re: New arrival- Not happy
I will go along with that Bill. I searched the nett and came across a foreign forum that did not translate very well into English.
Your suggestion is mentioned on that forum.
It was supplied with a not saying propagation is not allowed.Protected under plant breeders rights.

I think A 'PBR' on a plant means that you have to pay 'royalties' to the breeder/register of the plant for every plant that you sell!

Re: New arrival- Not happy
Hi Bill,
I've grown Gasteria batesiana x Aloe variegata for a long time. It makes a very attractive clump - one of my favourite crosses. Hope you enjoy yours too. Was this a Dave W. plant?
