Birmingham Branch Tuesday

Post by Andyh »

Birmingham Branch is next meeting at Winterbourne House and Garden on Tuesday 16th April.
Please do enter a plant in our table competition. The prize is a garden centre voucher. The theme of the competition is any single cacti or succulent that you think is CURIOUS in a small pot i.e. Less than 10cm/3 inches give or take a bit and we will judge one another's based on pure appeal.
Everyone votes according to their own personal criteria e.g. it might be CURIOSITY, age, beauty, size, rarity, or the setting in a nice pot! Last month Margaret won.
The main event is a talk by Ralph Martin entitled 'Curious cacti...A to Z'
His is sale website is live and if you would like to order anything online, make sure you request it in the comment box so he can bring plants along to the meeting.

Ralph will also bring plants to sell.

Ralph retired in 2017, and is an Emeritus Professor of Cardiff University. Ralph currently lives in North Wales. Ralph grows cacti and succulents as a hobby and is Chairman of the Research Committee of the British Cactus and Succulent Society. His cactus and succulent field number database is well-known, as is his related database of collectors acronyms.

You may also like to bring plants to ask for advice or perhaps give away/sell plants.
