Last year I failed to germinate this 'common' plant from seeds of mixed species assembled from various sources and generally good results though certain species failed completely.
It seems that plant fashion has moved on, and I cannot find plants or seeds from the several UK nurseries that I have searched. As it was self-fertile and seeds were abundant, I always had new recruits on the go, but now I found that a favourite plant has died out in my collection.
Is this a good place to ask if anybody can help me with a few seed pods to try this year, or seedling-size plants?
In hope and anticipation....

Re: Seeking Mammillaria densispina
It is on the most recent (last year's) seed list of the Mammillaria Society, so some must still be around. Good luck!

Re: Seeking Mammillaria densispina
It's on the ADBLPS seed list:
Mammillaria densispina ML 312 > La Ciénega-Terrero del Refugio 2300m/AGS/Mexique
It may be worth putting a post in the Wants/Swaps section on the forum for either seed or someone to add a single packet to an order with ADBLPS (or any other seed supplier who has it).

Thanks for those suggestions.
I am not a member of Mammillaria Society.
Where is the wants/swaps section? I heard about it but somehow in my inexperience I cannot even find it by 'search'.
Cheers, J

Ooops! I just found it at the bottom of my page. Maybe it does not appear if you are not logged in and simply browsing.

Re: Seeking Mammillaria densispina
Wait for the seed list of the Mammillaria freunde from Germany (http://www.mammillaria.eu/Shop). Late January they publish their list for non members. Maybe it is on it this year again.
Last year they offered these:
89 o ML densispina GM 1212, Presa Los Alamitos, Jal., 196
89 q ML densispina, (Vaconic), 014
89 u ML densispina, Azafran, Zac., 1603

Re: Seeking Mammillaria densispina
I can send you over one from Ireland if you want to risk it.
These are from SuccSeed HO 326 in 2017. Not listed now.
One at the back has darker spines. It's not very evident.
I've never been able to find HO 326, H 326 or H 0326, listed anywhere.
But it's supposed to be hardy.
Charco Azul, Gto
Flowers are cream I think. They produce large seed pods. But I've pulled and dumped them all.

Re: Seeking Mammillaria densispina
I made a search of my seed records which show that I've sown over 200 packs of Mammillaria seed since 2017. Mamm densispina has been sown only once, Mamm Soc seed in 2018, supplied with the field number "Rog 763". Result - zero germination.
Sorry, I'm no help to you.

Re: Seeking Mammillaria densispina
Thanks to everybody for their input. Sorry, I didn't have my eye on the ball.
I note no result from swaps etc.
Interesting to hear of experience and grower.
