Hi there el. I am primarily a cactus man, but I also love plants. A name (genus perhaps) would be handy so I could look up what cultivation requirements are needed to keep it going. Cheers

Joking aside.
Yes I agree. I like some clues about what the plant might need. But I can quite easily kill it with a full instruction manual.
I buy a plant because it appeals to me. I do collect a few genera though. I'm trying to go over to the dark side ...... or is it seeing the light .... by growing more succulents. I'm having difficulty achieving this because cactus are more interesting to me, in my current projects.

Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Hi el848, I too like to dabble with “ succulents “ the only trouble is the ones I like to grow need a higher Winter temps than my cacti. My g/h goes down to about 4C. My Lithops do not mind this, but I have to put my Stapelia plants into the house. Also my fav. own seed grown E obesa. plants These plants tend to mark easily in the cold. Cheers

Re: Lidl,s offer ?
Sadly no Beaucarnea up north, and the pointy Sansevieria turned out to be an Aloe vera (and no tomato soup pot on top of all of this!), but I am still looking forward to setting this Ficus over some nice rock and forcing it to grow some aerial roots:

I am on holiday in France and popped into the local Lidl and they have them here too.
