I've been growing many more Austrocactus, Pterocactus etc in recent years. Advice from the Sarnes and others is to give a rest from watering at the height of summer and to avoid watering in hot weather. ( I already avoid watering several other genera in hot weather).
My question is; given the coolish weather - especially nights - at the moment I am very tempted to water the Austrocactus at least. Any thoughts? The seedlings I have kept watered but am more concerned with those approaching maturity.
