My parents still have one of the hybrids with white flowers. It's a scarred old plant after 20 years of hard growing but still puts on a good show every year.

A pity we have not yet got the 'LIke' button. It really deserves a 'Like'.
You can take the boy out of the greenhouse, but you can't take the greenhouse out of the boy!

cactusrogerUK wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2016 12:37 pm Well worth a visit if you're in the area - it's a bit far for me, but I have had two very enjoyable visits in the last few months. The biggest problem is that Ralph is really good at quietly convincing you that you want to spend lots of money!
Here are some pictures of one his very finest - Echinopsis hybrid "Nita". I was lucky enough to get one last June for a tenner!! My flowers were about 12cm across (each). Those on the specimens planted out in the Cactus Shop main glasshouse were a bit larger, I think. (Thinks: those buds on the first image look just like Ralph's haircut! )

Here's the same plant today. Eight flowers on the main column, two more coming on one of the five sideshoots. Thought it was worth and update as I haven't posted a photo for several years. The flower clump is 30cm across. Spectacular.

Couldn't agree more. Nice to see the buds on the smaller offset as well!

Nice looker
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs. Recently discovered gorgeous Gasteria.

It looks to have Trichocereua purpureopilosus in its ancestry.cactusrogerUK wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2016 12:37 pm
