I have noticed over the past couple of days that my pleiospilos nelli have developed small white patches. They are not powdery and do not wipe or wash away. Could this be bleaching from too much light or not enough?
Any help much appreciated thanks.

I see 77 views and no reply so far. Possibly no responses due to the photos not showing clearly your perceived problem.
As for too much light, as you are UK based I would doubt that was possible unless you kept them in an unlit cellar for six months and then brought them out into full sun in mid June.

Hopefully the zoomed in picture will help.
They are being kept under led lights with my lithops.

You'd probably need a light white vinegar solution for this, won't just wash off with water (especially the same which caused the issue, so best to use rain- or distilled water). But I doubt it's worth the effort, if it is the actual case.

I'll give it a try to see if it's the case, thanks.

I think it's extremely minor surface damage from insect nibbling. Prob don't get too worked up over it - save the pesticide use for something more serious?
