Verschaffeltii
So do we think this is a verschaffeltii? I have concluded that’s what it must be. It came from the side of a hill on the road west from Salta and was shown to me as O schickendantzii which now it has flowered I can see it isn’t. The parent plant was around 18” tall but was amongst shrubby growth so probably wasn’t typical of the typical growth.

Re: Verschaffeltii
Pity really as it’s virtually the same as other clones I grow.

Re: Verschaffeltii
From your photo Mike I cannot say it is definitely verschaffeltii but it does look like it, flower colour is right also.
But it is definitely not schickendantzii
