Some great flowers there, Sylvia.
One of my favourites is Streptocarpus saxorum. It's probably more at home as a house plant rather than in the greenhouse. It has that rare quality for a succulent, blue flowers. So unless you have plenty of blue flowered succulents already, it's definitely one to grow. Much showier flowers than Plectranthus ernstii, so a shame it didn't get a mention in the December Journal article on blue flowered succulents. This plant has been in flower every month of 2013, the only succulent in my collection to achieve this.
Showy blue flowers
Leaves are hairy, moderately succulent
- There's also a compact form, smaller leaves, flowers a little smaller; didn't manage 12 months in flower this year though.
The compact form does well either in a pot, spreading over a windowsill, or in a hanging basket.
