Anacampseros seeds with baggy method - (yet more) clarification questions
Hello Everyone! I am 4 days after sowing my first batch of BCSS and MSG seeds and already have some germination! I have used the famous "baggy method" (or at least its close approximation): "Sterilised" the soil in an oven (85-90 degrees for 30 minutes) - quotation marks as it ap...

Re: Rooting Myrtillocactus geometrizans cv. Fukurokuryuzinboku
No I didn't mean 'wouldn't' but its only advice you don't have to take it, the stem once plump wouldn't leave much space for soil in a 2" pot. You need to bury quite a lot of the stem to give stability, its never going to be happy just slightly buried & wobbling, there is quite a bit of we...

Re: Rooting Myrtillocactus geometrizans cv. Fukurokuryuzinboku
Hi I think 2" would be much to small, my smaller/shorter one is in 3.5 & tallest in 4" but of course its your choice, 2" would give it much root space. I guess you meant "wouldn't" re. the 2"? The rooted one has really tiny roots at moment, taking definitely less t...

Re: May 2020 - Virtual Table Show
Not exactly the most exciting specimen I guess, but it's my first flower ever, so I am excited! Photo made with my mobile, so far from professionalism of others, but must do for now, apologies. 6.5 cm cheap plastic pot it came with, still waiting for clay ones to arrive. https://i.imgur.com/c7WONMd....

Re: Faucaria seedlings' stems thinning and whole plant later "dissolving" into mushy blob
I don’t think it’s neccesary to keep cacti in the enclosed environment. I do it because it’s convenient and saves work. So if you wish you could treat them just as you decide to treat the other succulents. Thanks, I think I am leaning towards the baggy method with opening them as soon as I see some...

Re: SB Plant invigorator, does it work?
I did some initial search, but cannot find an answer to whether one leaves the SBPI on or wipe it off after use? I am thinking about some preventive treatment on my succulents as well, which would be close to impossible to wipe afterwards due to tiny or rather delicate foliage.

Re: BCSS Virtual National Show
I mocked up a page on Reddit that the society might be able to use in the future https://www.reddit.com/r/bcss there are quite a few pages on the site like https://www.reddit.com/r/succulents and https://www.reddit.com/r/cactus that are popular and could be a way to get new members. Reddit works be...

Re: Rooting Myrtillocactus geometrizans cv. Fukurokuryuzinboku
Hello & Welcome, Nice plant I grow it too, the stock for the graft is normal mytilocactus . The only downside with mytilocactus is they can't tolerate cold, can die or get marks on the skin. Your potting mix looks fine but I would recommend going for a larger pottery pot with a wider base or th...

Rooting Myrtillocactus geometrizans cv. Fukurokuryuzinboku
Hi Everyone! I think I caught the C&S bug (knocking on wood for no real bugs though!). My two highly anticipated Myrtillocactus geometrizans cv. Fukurokuryuzinboku (I'll use MGF from now on) arrived earlier today (I know, a silly one, but I refrained myself for about 3 weeks after seeing one for...
