Aloe safari sunrise
Bought this from Dobbies back in 2020. The label indicated it is a summer grower, yes it probably is in South Africa however here in the UK it grows and flowers for me in winter time. The original plant (shown) sent out loads of offsets which I removed, the biggest I potted up and is growing well as...

Look what these caught.2023 trawl.
For years I have been using these yellow double sided sticky yellow fly catchers in the greenhouse. not clearly shown is a lot of very small white things. Fortunately Bees and Hover flies don't seem to get caught. I have no idea what's on them but I rather they be on the paper than roaming about the...

Re: February 2024: Adromischus
Adromischus halesowensis ??. I rescued this at the back end of 2022 from Roy Mottrams greenhouse. Not in the best condition but is improving. Sadly I could not read all the field data on what was left of the label. Its in a 7inch clay half pot. I don't have any more Adromischus.

Re: My avonia quinaria won’t root and it’s been almost a year. Please send help
Sadly the same fate awaits the many hundreds/thousands shown in the pictures above. Doomed to die a slow death. Who knows how much time elapses between being dug up and finally sold to a collector. Its collectors who are driving the market. I don't think you will get the plant to root no matter what...

Re: BCSS AGM 2024 - Unappealing photo!
It matters not what the outside looks like, the only thing that matters is what goes on in the inside on the day. Its not a social event. I think the Society has more to worry/think about than what the building for the AGM looks like. Those who want to attend will do so wherever and whatever the bui...
