Re: Sedum Palmers 'rayones'

The reason I dug up this thread a few days ago was because a friend asked me for a cactus for his parents grave. Yea I know a bit morbid. Of course I had to tell him I had nothing suitable. It's a different topic but I rarely get visitors to my greenhouses, but when I do and they normally ask for a ...

Re: Sedum Palmers 'rayones'

It has been nice seeing photos of other peoples versions of this plant. It does look like it would make a good 'wall or rockery' plant but I think it may be to large for most greenhouses, I mean you could get 20x Turbinicarpus in that space  You're right of course. And I think it's their last ...

Re: Look what these caught.2023 trawl.

Can someone please explain the point of catching and killing harmless insects? Mealy bugs maybe so, but all others - no. We should be helping them thrive, not killing them. https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/news/2022/may/uks-flying-insects-have-declined-60-in-20-years.html The male mealie bug flies…. ...

Have you checked the PH of the water after the fertilizer is added?

Re: buying cacti in Spain

Malaga. Anyone knows of cactus/succulent nurseries in the neighbourhood of Malaga? I know there are Botanical Gardens, but they don´t usually sell cacti so a nursery or a well stocked Garden Center would be nice. I and my better half are visiting a friend in Malaga for a week around the new year and...

Re: This Last Week

When I lost most of my collection to frost around 2010/11. All I remember now is wheelie bins full of skeletal remains. Is it not false economy to not heat a greenhouse, at the risk of then binning lots of plants ? Replacing the lost plants (in some cases maybe not possible) could cost more than he...

Re: This Last Week

When I lost most of my collection to frost around 2010/11 it took me a good six to eight months to determine what was dead and what had survived. If I remember correctly, most that died tended to go hard shelled and gradually loose colour rather than turn immediately to mush. Perhaps I missed the mu...

Re: Website broken links

I had this problem about six months ago. Lots of other people on the internet with the same problem. External links were defaulting to the Mail app, not Outlook. Lots of things were suggested, including modifying the registry, but nothing worked for me so I just gave up. Just tried to set my default...
