Re: Mammillaria id
Thank you for the suggestions so far. The flower colour is very variable across the seedlings. This photo was taken this evening and I did have to use the flash. SAM_3015.JPG The seedlings are about 3 yrs old and are showing no signs of clustering, I seem to remember the giselae I've grown from seed...

Mammillaria id
The seeds were purchased as Mammillaria lasiacantha, we had good germination however as they've grown I've become more doubtful that they are lasiacantha due to the spination. Does anyone have any thoughts to what they may be?
Many thanks

Re: Sussex Zone Show - This Weekend
A big thank you to Graham and everyone involved in organising today's show. A very enjoyable day and I was pleased with my first time showing, first and second in the novice classes (so a piece of silver to polish for the next year!) and third in the Aloe class.
Looking forward to next year!

Re: Cacti for my grandson's Year 1 class
My brownies loved the cactus evening I did for them a couple of weeks ago. I think many would have quite happily taken home the plants I took to show them! They all take home a pot of Astropyhtum seeds which they had sowed. The following week two of newest brownies that are only just 7 rushed in to ...

Mammillaria id please
I grew this Mammillaria from seed in about 2006 and during one of our house moves the orginal label was lost.
Can anyone identify it for me please?
Many thanks

Very nice!
We had seeds of this arrive during the week and the other half was asking what it looked like only this morning. Now I can show him!

Re: Questions about Kew Gardens
I know from my days as a student at Kew, that there has been huge budget cuts from what they receive from the government. So the money they bring in on the gate is even more important today without it the Gardens wouldn't survive.

Re: Bromley Branch Show
Thanks Bill. I had read it before but have just never got around to experimenting. One day I shall and then I shall bombard you all with photos. I have to agree Mike, that Agave utahensis v. eborispina was stunning. Makes me more disappointed that the seeds I sowed this year of it haven't germinated...
