Re: Winter growers and their requirements

The booklet arrived last night - what's the consensus around sharing scans of things like this that are hard to come by? More than happy to do it, but I don't want to break any rules. I would be more afraid of breaking the copyright laws, but am happy to help assess the severity of the offense if s...

Re: Todays photo

Hello Allan,
The last three plants are superb!
You are definitely developing a fine collection of Haworthias, showing some striking features within 5 years or so.
Well done! (tu)

Re: Uebellmannia Q

Maybe shorthand for what used to be called U. meninensis var. meninensis, now referred to as U. gummifera ssp. meninensis?

Re: Lophophora starting to rot -what do I do

Just FYI, As a chemist, (tu) for Ed re. sulfur not sulphur. IUPAC deemed that sulfur was the preferred spelling many years ago now, see e.g.: https://www.nature.com/articles/nchem.301 I'm sorry (or not) that my "Just FYI" post provoked so much discussion; and yes, sulfur is the mos...

Re: What to do with extra time

Whilst we're going back into history, I'm sure someone here knows what happened to Gordon Rowley's library. I seem to remember it was taken away to be catalogued but can't remember where it went or who would have access to it. Stuart Stuart, It was set up as a Charitable Trust; If I remember correc...

Re: What to do with extra time

The Lamb's books were never much use, I'd put them out for recycling. If John Pilbeam's books were at one end of a scale, the Lambs books would be at the other. Stuart My second edition Borg came with these as bookmarks;IMG_0401.jpeg I have to disagree somewhat with Stuart's comment on Lamb's plate...

Re: What to do with extra time

I was given the task of disposing of some books from a much missed member of our branch and they (IIRC) had half a dozen copies of Borg's book. They pretty much had a complete set of each printing edition. I was very tempted to "complete the set" just for the fun of it but to get the earl...
