You seem to keep it in a conservatory - does it get some extra warmth in winter?

Oh, I like your choice of plants, Rogan. I find that this Schlumbergera has the nicest flowers of all – surprising that it is so seldom offered for sale. Frithia pulchra, of course, is much easier to source; and since some of you guys have posted pictures of it flowering, I shall attempt to grow it ...

I see what you mean – it's an odd little plant, isn't it.
I chopped the top off mine and re-rooted it. Not sure if that was wise... Anyway, thanks for your advise. More sun, grit and less water might help it keep its shape in future.

Hiya, Very nice flower. May I ask how you grow it? I was actually looking at my own plant today - it grew a bit lanky, whilst a crassula nealeana next to it seems happy enough, staying compact, colouring up nicely and usually flowering all autumn and winter. Anyway, well done for getting it to flowe...
