It could well be some sort of hybrid. The rescued plants I believe all came from supermarket/garden centre purchases.

Thanks everyone. Stuart, I originally kept it in my conservatory (not letting THAT in my greenhouse) but in my minds eye it flowered more red than it is now, hence albilosa. It has longer spines than my original muscula, larger heads and much more floriferous. My original muscula may be a bit tired ...

This was given to me by a friend whose mother had a small cactus collection in her porch before she passed away.
