Re: Colour change.

Gorgeous plant.

Re: Bloody typical

I have read of slugs and snails finding acceptable dining at totally silly heights and making it their home.

HOW? WHY? Do they have the most amazing sensors for detecting food?

Re: Bloody typical

Nobody told the slugs and snails here in GOC not to cross fine gravel .... little beggars here must have bellies like elephant skin. There are various "sure-fire" ways to keep slugs and snails at bay - crushed eggshells, grit, soot, coffee grounds, tea leaves, the urine of a virgin maiden...

Re: Keeping Euphorbia globosa globose

Internodal distance in plants is controlled by the amount of blue light, which is what dictates what we see as elongation/etiolation. As the equator is approached, the sunlight contains more blue, on average, plus total insolation increases. Sounds interesting! If distance to the equator is key, th...

Re: Keeping Euphorbia globosa globose

Just a thought - plants from RSA are 6 months out of sync' with Europe. If you have not imported before, give some thought about what cues the plant is likely to be linked to in terms of growth and dormancy, and be prepared. If unsure, there is some sage advice online from the late Terry Smale, albe...

Re: John Innes compost replacements

Sylvagrow Ericaceous is indeed described as compost, but appears to be entirely composted bark and coir. Not on the Sylvagrow webpage that I read - neither compost nor composted mentioned. If they claim otherwise elsewhere, we shall never know. Here you go: https://melcourt.co.uk/products/sylvagrow...

Thank you very much, I am most grateful. Or maybe you couldn't find anything?
