Re: Uncarina grandidieri

It's warm and under lights and reasonably damp. It was kept cooler and dry earlier in winter and dropped its leaves for a while. I doubt if it ever went much below 10degC though. They do rebound quickly from drought dormancy with warmth, water and light. I assume it would happily grow and flower yea...

Re: Seedlings stopped growing.

How much are you watering? It's hard to tell much from the photos, except that the Aloes / Agaves at the end look very dehydrated. If you are using containers with no drainage holes, it's tricky to get the amount of moisture correct. Too wet, they get waterlogged and rot / damp off. Too dry and they...

BCSS AGM 2024 - Unappealing photo!

Is there any chance the photo for the 2024 AGM could be changed? Here's the page: https://bcss.org.uk/event/bcss-agm-2024/ And here's just the photo: https://bcss.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Leicester-forest-east1.jpg If I were in 2 minds about attending I think this shot of the venue would pu...

Re: Repotting at this time of year in the UK?

I just checked out Echeveria chameleon. Apparently "Echeveria 'Miranda Chameleon' is a unique and eye-catching houseplant that features fleshy leaves dyed in a shimmering, metallic paint.." It looks like E. agavoides plus a paint job, so should be a very tough, forgiving plant, tolerant of...
