Re: May 2024 - pots matching plants, or plants matching pots

This year I'm moving from plastic to ceramic. Here's a small snapshot from the greenhouse this afternoon.

Love those bonsai trees.

Here's an astrophytum capricorne to get things started.

The plant is awesome! And is that a TB Bonsai pot you've used?

Re: Smaller agaves (and their hardiness)

Thanks for this, Paul. Size wise I'm talking 30-40cm diameter or less. I really like the ones with tight rosettes with the wide leaves over the longer, strappy leaves.

Smaller agaves (and their hardiness)

I'm wanting to add a smaller agave to my outdoor bed and am looking for suggestions? I like the look of a. potatorum but have read conflicting reports as to its hardiness. Any tips?

North West Cactus Mart 2024 (Saturday 4th May)

This is less than a month away and I haven't seen a thread about it, so here's one.

No info of sellers yet but I'm keeping my eyes peeled.

Sounds like a great event, Stuart.

Did anyone get any photos?

Re: Habitat-style staging

What other rock types available in the UK might be worth trying? I'd really like to plant an aztekium vertically in some gypsum.

Re: Habitat-style staging

I'm using Yorkstone simply because I have an abundance of it in my garden. Rock is expensive!

Here's another staging I did today. A tiny ariocarpus retusus robustus that I bought from Tina.
