Re: 2nd Chinese International Cactus and Succulent Conference

Thank you Detlev! Now I want to read the "Naked thistle and spider cactus - The genus Gymnocalycium", what a fitting title!

Re: Todays photo

Assuming the two photographs there are the parent plants, no wonder this little fella is stunning as well! Do you have any other seedlings from that cross, or did you acquire only this one?

One of my favourites:-H.Mordor 'Lawrence Loucka' X complex hybrid.jpg H.mordor 'Lawrence LOucka' X complex hybrid What a stunner and a mouthful! Shouldn't it be H. ('Mordor' x 'Lawrence Loucka') x complex hybrid? Would it be from one of the seeds offered here: https://haworthia.co.za/product/hawort...

Re: North West Cactus Mart 2024 (Saturday 4th May)

Thank you, that's already quite useful! I can add The Majestic Roots I think just before Williams Cacti on the right side of the hall and opposite them Ian Armstrong.

I am wondering who the two gentlemen were with a stall with many bagged segments of Maihueniopsis and similar genera, as I got some.

Re: North West Cactus Mart 2024 (Saturday 4th May)

Is there a plan of sellers' stalls? I'd like to note down from whom I got some plants while I still remember anything...

I was going to say sounds like an illness but I do like pretty/unusual pots, Baz has been dragged round bonsai car boots a few times.

Here's an astrophytum capricorne to get things started.

I wanted to put more focus on the little Saxifraga, but the trees were also amazing indeed

Thanks for a great start! Shame I do not have any fancy pots myself hah.

May 2024 - pots matching plants, or plants matching pots

Thank you Aiko once again for nomination, after consulting this matter with Paul he gave me a green light to choose a topic, so here we are. I am aware this might be a little risky, but after seeing a few great examples recently (one being Tina's Euphorbia makeover here https://forum.bcss.org.uk/vie...

Re: April 2024 - Bursting out of the pot

Thanks Aiko! Maybe there weren't many contenders, but they were all very solid!

I really should pass the nomination to Paul whose plants are on those photographs. I will check this with him and one of us will propose a new subject promptly.
