Re: Opuntia subinermis black ends
Hmmm .......... so it clearly can be difficult to care for and it is not just me for once. Now I think about it I think the plant has darkened at the edges in summer before but not to the extent of the heavy blackening and now rot (on only some branches I must say), meerly darkened with flesh nearer...

Re: Opuntia subinermis black ends
Dont know if it is cumulopuntia. I bought it from Abbey Brook under opuntia subinermis. It is certainly not as robust and easy to care for as other opuntia which can thrive on neglect. The tips of the plant are not cracked as in your link, Mike. But it looks to me as if the black could work back int...

Opuntia subinermis black ends
I have had my opuntia subinermis for four years. Kept in the greenhouse, it is approx 3 inches across and high and was repotted a few months ago as I thought it could do with some more room to grow. Potted it into the usual mix of approx 50:50 JI3 and grit, with some Tesco cat litter for good luck. ...

Re: Adenium in full flower despite the weather Solved
Lovely flowers, Ernie. I am very envious as well. My Adenium plant is sat on the kitchen window ledge and healthy enough. It flowered last year, after I purchased it, but nothing this year and no buds. Plenty of leaves though. I give my plant average water but notice that compared with the photograp...

Thanks for that Paul. I would have a little more chance with French.
Quite an interesting translation and made me wonder even more. So in an hour or so I off out to get it translated professionally!

Re: Any ideas anyone please?
Hard to resist at local events, I agree, I am just the same. The one with two in the pot probably has large yellow flowers and I have had identical one for 15 years and loads of offshoot babies since then. I would love to put a name to it as well.

Acanthorhipsalis Paranganiensis
I have a nice one of these acquired from NW cactus Mart 2010. Condition of the plant is very good despite having been rather neglected and kept in a bright porch, and I have just moved it to the greenhouse. There are 3 or 4 arms to it, each approx a 10 inches long. Potted in a light compost with eit...

Re: Aloe Fragilis- likes the bedroom conditions Solved
If the plant now seems happy I would certainly leave it exactly where it is. You will see from a different thread I started couple of weeks ago "Euphorbia TLC" I repotted and moved my Euphorbia Milii from his longstanding bathroom home at my peril and had to move it back to the bathroom qu...
