Re: adventitious plantlet popagation for Aeonium "Bronze teacup"
I would hedge your bets and remove some now I'm case the hormones running through the main plant eventually trigger those rosettes to flower as well! Pick the biggest couple and then leave the rest to see if they get bigger and be prompt in cutting the rest off at the first sign of the stem drying o...

Re: Pelargoniums
In a fully fertilised Geraniaceae flower you should get 5 seeds. I don't know if Pelargonium are released explosively like Geranium and Sodium but if they are make sure you catch them before they're fired all over your greenhouse or snip the tip of the rostrum off as it develops to stop them being f...

Re: Chamaelobivia 2024
Edith is still flowering away in my office (along with 'Lincoln Whirlwind', 'Lincoln Tango' and 'Lincoln Might') and 'Shot Scarlet' has joined them this week. PXL_20240521_091624808.jpg The ones in my cold greenhouse are just starting into bloom now. PXL_20240524_164051366.jpg I bought this as my da...

Re: Sulcorebutia canigueralii
Nice clone Terry. I have a plain red form - we'll have to swap offsets at some point when both plants are big enough! If you want a bit of that form of course!

Re: RHS Plants of the year
I have a few x Semponium and they do appear to be expressing more Aeonium genes than Sempervivum ones in how they grow and their hardiness. If anything I've found them more sensitive over winter than most Aeonium. It's almost like they want more water than Aeonium and to grow more at cooler temperat...

Good to have you back on here Colin. I look forward to reading your article. As a splitter by nature these new groups make sense to me so will be interesting to read your thoughts.

Re: Todays photo
Great pictures Allan as always. Thank you for sharing.
I wouldn't have guessed springbokvlakensis was a part of that last hybrid if you hadn't said.
