But the use of forma or varietas could apply to any species, regardless of origin. Generally forma is used where there's only 1...

Parodia ID
The parent of these plants was IDed as coming from the Parodia concinna group, but can anyone help with a species ID?
I'll update with flowers when they bloom but they are large, silk-like and yellow.

IMG-20240513-WA0001~2.jpeg IMG-20240513-WA0005~2.jpeg IMG-20240513-WA0003~2.jpeg I suppose the last ought to be f.albiflora really as it isn't described as a cultivar to my knowledge so should be named as a form instead? (I have the yellow, orange and 'red' form too so f.aureiflora and f.rubriflora...

Re: Agave victoriae reginae - suckering
Many plants will offset when young and then stop when they get larger. If there's damage it can trigger more offsetting (see videos about slicing plants on half!). Not aware that 'standard' v-r is being tissue cultured. Would have thought they would have grown most from seed and saved TC work for va...

Re: Aloe polyphylla
It might be worth trying them outside with a rain shelter. Mine is planted in the ground in Nottingham and doing well so far! My friend has one in a half barrel outside that hasn't been covered for the last few years.
