For this it was 60% vermiculite, 20% coco coir, and 20% a combo of pumice, scoria, calcined clay and zeolite.

I tried an experiment where I didn't heat-sterilize my soil before sowing some seeds and putting them into a ziploc. I relied on Physan 20 (2.5 ml / 32 oz boiled rain water) to treat seeds and soil. I have not had the best of luck with roseoluteus seeds. The first batch I sowed was from my own plant and I got zero germination. Another batch had decent germination but only about 3 seedlings survived. They seem a bit more finicky than other seeds I have had success with.

Tulense or columnare?

I've had this one for a long time and always thought it was A. myriostigma columnare. But it might be myriostigma tulense. How can one tell the difference?

I do find plant nutrition a fascinating topic of study and a very difficult one at that. I have a strong suspicion that what we think we know is going to be wrong, and I don't mean you and me but science in general. ammonium based fertilizers are more rapidly converted into amino acids than nitrate...
