Thank you both, that's a relief!
I was surprised at the scale of the "infestation" since there was none I could see last time I checked (last week).

Lithops seedlings pest
Good morning, While I was watering my lithops seedlings from the bottom this morning, I checked on them with a magnifying glass and to my horror I saw some tiny black insects crawling up as if they were trying to avoid getting wet. They look very much like a type of aphid but I am not sure. A transp...

Re: Mesembs sowing timing
Thank you Tony, Aiko, Mary and Catherine.
It is great to get input from such experienced growers.
I will sow seeds today and move the pots to the greenhouse once germinated.

Re: Mesembs sowing timing
This is exactly what I worry about, although my records show no temperature under 2C in the greenhouse after March in previous years, it can get to the low 20C during the day. But then at home, even in an unheated room, night temperatures don't dip very much (at the moment, 16C minimum).

Re: Mesembs sowing timing
Another question: would you place the pots in an unheated greenhouse at this time of year? I am in London, but we still get relatively low temperatures at night. The other option is my kitchen windowsill.

Re: Mesembs sowing timing
Oh oh, I'm getting conflicting advice ! I guess I'll have to try a 50/50 approach... if I manage to count the seed, that is. I don't have the best eyesight.

Mesembs sowing timing
I have finally received my seed (Conos and Lithops) from the MSG, and I was wondering if it is still fine to sow now, of if it would be better to hold my fire until te beginning of next year.
Any thoughts?

Re: Plastic-free propagation?
Thank you. I've got to give it a try.It has saved a lot of time and root damage when pricking out. It is easier to see when they need potting up too.
