Re: To bin or not to bin, that is the question.

I would be tempted to cut it where the curve changes radius - keep the dark green and get rid of the light green. That way you'll see if any rot has got higher up. If there is any brown in the tissue when cut it is probably a goner. Shame when that happens - its probably been rotting at the roots fo...

Re: Forum access problems

Paul has told me about this and he doesn't know what is causing it. It could simply be (I am guessing myself) that there has been more traffic than normal due to various "things" going on and it is slowing the server down a bit. As always the best way to report things is by contacting the ...

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.5375131,-2.1986228,521m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu Parking is available all the way along Mainway - best part of half a mile long - so the sooner you get there the nearer to the venue you'll be. The carpark is small and usually reserved for sellers who (rightfully) do...

Re: North West Cactus Mart 2024 (Saturday 4th May)

Slightly off topic, but what a poor idea to block simple right click copying from a website (was just going to check the exact location of the mart). I agree entirely. It shouldn't need to be blocked like that but I got fed up of finding pictures from the North West Mesemb Show all over Pinterest a...

Re: A slow start

I've sprayed everything with the hose pipe once (the floor is full of rescued plants and I can't get in). I would normally have watered everything by now. Last year I started a new outside job on the 4th April. That day was wet and then we never had any wet days until the Summer School Holidays. No ...

Amazing what you find when Spring Cleaning - unusual hybrid

I'd forgotten I had this until I was Spring Cleaning yesterday. I can't remember who gave it to me but they said it was a rare hybrid between Ortegocactus macdougallii and Obregonia denegrii. Looks rather unusual and I am wondering what class it should go in for our next branch show. . . P2342453.JPG

Re: (Sowing) Where do you put the organic part in a pot: on top, in the middle or at the bottom?

Hello, I am about to sow new cactus and haworthia seeds. I will use 80% inorganic part and 20% organic but I am hesitating about where to put the organic part in a pot: on top, in the middle or at the bottom? I think that in nature the "organic part" is at the top and I can reproduce it. ...

Try the right arrow. The dots between 6 and 44 are sort of "hidden" pages. They are there, but the dots prevent a whole list of numbers appearing 1 to 44
