Re: Trichodiadema in Namibia ID

Maybe the rock is being moved, but not by me. The locality is on a private farm so not many people can have done this. There are many other small plants that indeed grow under larger stones. If you want to see more habitat pictures of plants in Namibia, just look here: http://www.dkg.eu/dkgboard/vie...

Trichodiadema in Namibia ID

As far as I know there is only Trichodiadema littlewoodii recorded from Namibia. I have found the plants on the pictures just 20 km east of Aus in southern Namibia. There are only about 10 plants in the hole area. IMG_9464.jpg IMG_9429.jpg IMG_9430.jpg Unfortunately there are no flowers. I know T. l...

I don't know, if someone has posted it anywhere, but this could be of interest for you:

Re: Delosperma sp?

Hi Chris ! As iann write, your plant looks like D. sp. Lesotho. Please don't believe the pictures of D. congestum on the net. Most of them are wrong. The real D. congestum is a white flowering species and it's habit is quite different from D. sp. Lesotho. Here is a picture of the real D. congestum: ...

Re: Overwintering Delosperma cs.

Hi Harry ! Which species of Delosperma do you have ? And how cold is a heavy winter ? The only Delos that survived here (Germany) the last winter are: D. nubigenum D. 'Golden Nugget' D. 'White Nugget' D. alpinum (Sani Pass I) They stand outside under a glass roof and the temperature going down to -1...

Re: Nomenclature of Aloe

Hi Colin ! Sorry for my late response. I have take a look in the book "Berger in Engler Pflanzenr. Aloin. 174 (1908)" and what should I say, the species seems to grow  The dimensions are between those in the first description and those by Reynolds. In Reynolds book "The Aloes of...

Re: Nomenclature of Aloe

Hi Colin ! Thank you very much for your answer. I have asked the same question in a German forum and doesn't get any answer. Some very interesting news for me. Returning to the second question, where can I find out such a revision of a species ? For a normal people like me, it is simply impossible t...

Nomenclature of Aloe

I have some questions about the nomenclature of Aloe peglerae: 1. Is there any chance to revise or supplement a first description of a species? 2. If the above is possible, where can I find such a revision? My questions are especially about Aloe peglerae. The first description of this species differ...

Re: ID help needed

Hi Al ! Please forget, what I have written ('I would exclude Z. clavatum because of the leave form.'). If you want to be sure that you have Z. clavatum or Z. simplex, you need a flower. In Z. clavatum the petals are white and in Z. simplex they are yellow. If the pictures in your link are all correc...
