Tunilla soehrensii

I have this with the above name bud last night and sort of open tonight when I went out 8.30pm so don’t know if it will open more or if I will be home to see it

That’s not a soehrensii as I understand them. Looks to me to be from the same group as the ‘hintonii’ plant. I would be interested in a cutting when it’s large enough to spare one.

Cyrill uses the species name soehrensii for all the plants in this genus http://tephroweb.ch/tu/tukulturpflanzen.htm soehrensii being the type of the genus.

With so many names based on vague and/or incomplete descriptions without a type or location information or a photo thre's something to be said for this strategy (or just using 'sp.').

I am trying to order the plants I have into something more definite than sp. but it isn’t easy…I have placed all the plants which look like the one above in one group along with hintonii as being distinct enough to be readily identifiable. It may be a hopeless task.
