Re: Huntington Desert Garden
Thanks for the impressive virtual tour! Must be a magic place to visit the Huntington Gardens.
The agave mapisaga looks like real ruler there.
Considering other plants around I would say the across rosette measure must be some 2 meters at least!:woho:

Not sure of the actual measurement, but it was definitey the largest agave I have ever seen.

Chris
What was interesting, is that the sales area was in the private area of the Desert Garden Offices. It was alongside the Reserve Collection plants which suggests it is only selectively open to the public. THE LABEL WITH A PRICE TAG CONFIRMED THAT THE ITEMS WERE FOR SALE.
There were ISI stuff available, but I was not allowed to purchase from ISI 2009. But I could purchase from all other years. And I did.

Re: Huntington Desert Garden
Nice pics, Winston!
We'll be there next weekend for the annual CSSA show and sale. Never miss an excuse to walk the desert garden
If i remember correctly, i think they have some sort of educational classes about plants on a Thursday (once a month?) and after the class the sales area is open. As you stated, ISI plants are always available from all prior years (assuming they have any left over). It's been over a month since i put in my ISI 2009 order, still no word yet. I wonder how far down the list i am
