Re: Zone event at Capel Manor 15th March - cancelled
No offense intended but we both require different things from the same society. I also like gardening and vegetable growing and can think of nothing better than visiting 'Yellow Book' gardens. Our garden is filled with tropical or tropical style plants, Mediterranean and arid plants. The main struc...

Re: Zone event at Capel Manor 15th March - cancelled
I saw it in a 'Home Designer Magazine' wish I had saved it now. I also started off with a few windowsill plants (they came with the Women of my life when we married) but soon every window was full of them usually stuck to the curtains! prompting the purchase of an 8' x 8' greenhouse. But I did want...

Re: Zone event at Capel Manor 15th March - cancelled
Chez I agree, but the 'club' does not have to down grade itself and become only a short term frivolous thing. Already I have seen media posts saying succulents are so last year 🤣 It depends what you mean by "downgrade". My findings have been that many people in the BCSS, not all, just wan...

Re: Zone event at Capel Manor 15th March - cancelled
If the word convention bothers the next generation how are they going to cope with Bradleya or should that change its name? You are correct, it bothers people. I'm not quite sure what age group you are referring to though. It seems to put people off from age fifty and under (in my experience). I kn...

Re: Seed list
It was on line the year before, the 2018-19 seed list is still there. I haven't seen it updated to 2019-20.

Re: Plastic-free propagation?
For our other plants we now sow in compressed pellets of growing medium to save pricking out. We do still use plastic as well as terracotta plant pots. You can get various presses to make your own pellets to suit what you are growing. That's something I've been looking at for my vegetable seeds. Do...

When I was a young child back in the late 60s and 70s I remember dad and granddad using wooden seed trays, you can still buy them.
