Re: On this bristly cold mornin a howdy from a new member
I love your take on '|The Scream' - really made me laugh. How about doing a picture for mealy bug? I spent a happy (?) time recently, hunting and squashing, after finding a couple on my Echeverias.

Re: Jude's greenhouse
Sue - most of the plants in seed trays will eventually get their own pot. Lithops will probably be three or five to a pot, maybe more. It's the usual story - not enough time & not enough space. I like to grow Auricula as well as C&S. Through the winter I always need to find a bit of room for...

Jude's greenhouse
Here are some photos taken yesterday. Everything still looks very much in winter mode. I took the pictures, but I'm not very techy, so my partner Rob did the processing. http://www.robmarshall.net/Images/Botanic/13793701_N72FQM#!i=1475064995&k=VTGZtjt http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7020/669575037...

Re: I'm worried about these Feros
I live in west Wales about 3 miles from the coast. Here we probably have a micro-climate similar to Cornwall. It is usually mild and throughout the winter ususlly damp. My greenhouse is totally bubble-wrapped. Night-time temperature is around 5C. Daytime light levels are possibly slightly reduced - ...

Re: Dont be shy
After more than three years as a member, I've got round to posting a picture of me, taken in my garden, doing a bit of weeding - an endless task. Pictures of my plants to follow soon, now I've got into photo-mode.

Re: Winter flowers
Hi Sue, I've cut back K. blossfeldiana & the plants respond well. The cuttings root easily too - I left cuttings in a jam-pot of water and forgot about them, only to find them all rooting a few weeks later.

Re: When do you give up on seeds you've sowed ?
I'd agree with Sachi. So long as you have room, then keep the seed-trays or pots for as long as possible, certainly a year if not two. My theory is that throughout a year, there will be a whole range of conditions i.e. very hot or very cold etc . If your seeds need certain conditions in order to ger...

Re: New Year Resolutions! plant-related ONLY
Firstly, I'm going to get tough on my plants - both in the garden and greenhouse. Anything that looks a bit sick goes immediately to the compost heap. No more trying to save sick and straggly plants - or 'feeling sorry' for a plant I've neglected. My greenhouse just isn't big enough to be a plant ho...

Re: lithops for supper
Update No.2. I used granola cereal and chocolate as bait - haven't trapped any mice yet. There has been no more damage since relocating the earwigs to the compost heap, but this could just be coincidence. Thanks for all advice.
